fall 2010 aspirants

Hi Friends

I am writing my GMAT in the last week of september,planning to apply for fall 2010.Can someone let me know if I would be able to apply in the first round since for most colleges , round 1 gets over by oct 1st week, so u think I wud b able to prepare my application n all.I have heard from ppl that chances of getting accepted in round 1 are much better than round2 and 3.
Pls let me know if applying in round2 is also fine.
