Academically you are a bit below average for many of the schools in your list. Many of the schools in your list have average GPA's of 3.4-3.5 and average GMAT scores of 710+. I strongly encourage you to consider retaking the GMAT as it may help you be a bit more competitive.

Your work experience seems solid, although I don't have a complete understanding of your roles and promotions to date. However, your international experience in Japan is great and will hopefully provie you with some potential essay topics which will help you stand out from the large pool of Indian engineering applicants.

You have a very diverse range of schools from programs ranked in 10 to programs ranked in the top 100. I don't feel I have enough information to give you guidance on school selection at this point. Could you share with me a bit more information about your work experience? In addition I'd like to know about your extracurriclular actitivies as well as your short and long term MBA goals. This will give me a clearer picture of your profile and assist me with school recommendations.

Thanks,

Stacey

stacey wrote:Hi Stacy, Thanks a lot for your reply. I strongly agree with you to retake my GMAT and will try to improve my score.
Regarding my Work Experience , I am working in IT with an MNC for last 5 years. Initially I started working in a Citibank , Japan project at offshore. It was in core banking or commercial banking. Then I worked 1 year for Citicards, Japan project. then I moved to Japan for Citibank Securities japan Ltd. (client) project. I worked almost 4 years in Banking and Finance projects and also 0.5 years in Risk Management for Citi Markets and Banking. Currently I am working with KPMG International, USA in SAP, CRM ( Customer Relationship Management) domain as techno-funtional lead.
As far my career goal I always tried to know the business while working as a technical person in any project. From starting I started to learn the underlying business and provide solution accordingly. Even working at onsite I analysed the business of the customer and designed/developed system to help their business processes. So throughout in my IT career I was more focussed on learning and analyzing business.
I strongly feel that I should move to Business Analysis/Consultancy role in the coming years.
Please let me know if need any further information. I would ask you to help me in selecting those schools which are more focussed in Consultancy/Information Management part.

Thanks and Regards,
Bikramjit
