Find the fourth consecutive even number

1) The sum of the last two numbers is 30
2) The sum of the first two numbers is 22

n-4,n-2,n,n+2

1)n+n+2=30
n=14
you can find all the numbers

n=14
you can find all the numbers

For the GMAT it's useful to know how to represent consecutives:

Consecutive intgers: n,n+1,n+2,n+3...

Consecutive even's : 2n,2n+2,2n+4,2n+6...

Consecutive odd's: 2n+1,2n+3,2n+5,2n+7....

Let the nos. be a-4,a-2,a,a+2.From 1 and 2 each the values of a can be found.
