Hi Guys

I am new here and need your help. You will probably not believe my story below.

I took GMAT now 4 times. Last time I scored 570 (in August 2008). Then I started preparing for GMAT really seriously.

1. I took Manhattan GMAT course on line
2. Took Kaplan course
3. Did all questions from OG10,11, and 12 plus supplement materials
4. Did GMAT focus many times etc.
5. Took MATH 11 and MATH 12 in college again with all As

Now the funny part is that I have been preparing in average 5 hours 7 days a week for .....7 months! I am not kidding. I took no breaks in those 7 months.

In my mock tests I was consistently scoring above 700 (Kaplan only I was scoring in high 600s but others such as Manhattan GMAT, GMAT Prep all were around 700 to 740)

Yesterday I took an official GMAT and scored...510!

How is that possible? Does anyone here have a similar experience? I am very determined guy but now seeing what happened I just want to forget about GMAT and MBA

thanks for comments
na

What are your scores like, mate?

If its around 650 and I were you, I would concentrate more on the application part...and target for a top-50 B-school rather than a top-10 or top-20.

Although not a pessimist, I feel that there is a certain moment when you have to let go of certain things.

I have myself given twice, and next attempt is the last attempt. If I cant make it big with the 3rd attempt, I don't think I should prepare a 4th time.

Sounds like you maybe burning yourself out. 5 hours a day 7 days a week for 7 months is WAAAAAY too much. If I did that I would vomit every time I saw a DS question.
