Scoring understanding ?

Everyone talks about a complex formula being used to compute the final GMAT score. (difficulty level of questions etc).
Is there a rough guide which gives an indication of the number of questions one has to get right in a particular section for particular scores ?
(e.g. 90% hit rate in Q, 85% hit rate in V to get 700+ etc)

I dont think that the math you have asked for is possible. In my exp in GMAT prep tests, I have got 11 wrong in quant and scored a 45. I also scored a 50 once with 13 wrong!

Hence dont worry about linking scores with accuracy rates. That is not possible. Just concentrate on the getting all questions right. Your score will shoot up.

Nope, the algorithm is not based upon percentage correct. The algorithm is based primarily upon the difficulty level of the questions you answer. You could have the same percentage correct and get a 350 or a 650.
