Verbal score improvement.

for a person with non-English speaking middle school background, what is the strategy to improve Verbal score?

First attempt V scaled score - 18.
Q score was far better (41).

Verbal Score is pretty much low.Build your basics before attempting any SC question. I am also a non-native speaker.I can tell you my strategy. Start with Basic grammar book, learn all the grammar rules.Then start Manhattan SC book.The book will help you to build concepts for GMAT.

CR=> PowerScore CR bible is one of the best book to start with. Give it some time and you will find improvements in your result.

Once you build up your basic concepts, try solving questions posted on the forum.That would help you to apply the concepts you have learned.

I am myself struggling with the same,so I would be the wrong person to advice,however I would just say Key to Verbal is Practice....
