25 days & 9 Hours to GMAT Target is 7XX

Hi Folks,

Need quick help from all the beat the GMAT members. I am taking my GMAT and I have 25days & 9hours left for that. I am targetting somewhere around 750.

Just for the background info i have already taken GMAT once and could not touch my target score (during my last prep i was scoring on an average 660+ on Kaplan & other tests but fell flat on my face on the d-day ), so decided to retake it

My weak areas are:

Verbal - RC>CR>SC (Plz read like: Weakest in RC fllowed by CR etc.)
Quant - DS is the only weak area i can think of....

On my last GMAT i scored (scaled) 49 on Quant wish to pull it up to 51-52 & Verbal was horrible in (scaled) mid 30s , wish to touch 40+


The plan i have in place:

To take up around 18 tests in next 34days & 20hours

4 CAT Princeton
6 CAT Kaplan
4 CAT Crack GMAT
6 CAT Manhattan GMAT
2 CAT Powerprep
2 CAT Pearson Vue

And will repeat the Powerprep & Pearson Vue tests couple of times.......just took couple of diagnostic by Kaplan & Crack GMAT score ranging from 590 to 620 ...so starting pretty low!!!

People please help me with your inputs over here.
I am open to any criticism / feedback / thoughts you guys wanna share, please do that!

Also, FYI i work so also have to cope up with the hectic work schedule too! Will be taking off for 12 to 15 days in last couple of weeks.

A 52 in quant is just about impossible...

DO NOT take all those tests. Tests are just feedback points - you should do one about once every 2-3 weeks. You need to use your test results to identify your weaknesses and then study to improve those weaknesses before you take another test.

If you just take tests over and over without doing work in between, you may improve improve marginally - but mostly, you'll just reinforce your weaknesses.

Also, 51 is essentially a perfect score on the math (yes, the scale goes up to 60, but they don't actually assign numbers that high for some reason). A 51 quant and 40 verbal would get you to about 730. Also, 750 is a 98th percentile score. No school on the planet either requires that or will look upon you more favorably if you have a 750 compared to, say, a 700. Once you hit the 90+ percentile, the schools will be making their decisions based upon the other components of your application. So just consider that when you are deciding how to spend your time.

This is not necessarily true... If there are many people with similar stats, of course the higher GMAT applicant will get in. Once you hit 750, schools view you as a "GMAT donor". I spoke with a Columbia adcom member who candidly told me that, for overrepresented demographics, the school basically requires a high GMAT score. This way the school can admit underrepresented minorities and other demographics who have lower GMATs without screwing up its school average.

In other words... ibankers, management conslultants, IIT... you better hope you're at least hitting the 700s... 8)

All other things being equal, sure. But if they have two i-banking applicants, one of whom has a 750 and good but not amazing work history and another who has a 700 and absolutely stellar work history - the work history is going to trump the score. I'm not saying the GMAT score isn't important - but it is not the most important factor in the mix.

Just click on any ad on this site (google ads) and you'll see the content boosting the importance of the GMAT test. They do it because GMAT is their business!
On the other hand, Stacey, you write unbiased posts even if you represent a GMAT prep company.
