What to do next?

Stacy,

I recently took the GMAT and scored 700(Q46 V40). I will be finishing my undergrad work in November, and I am thinking about going to get a Master's degree in Accountancy before heading into the workforce. My plan has always been to get into a good MBA school, will getting a Master's in ACCT and CPA help me achieve that goal, or should I attempt to enter the workforce immediately after graduation?

Dear Andrew,

Pursuing an accounting career, including a master's in accounting and the CPA, is a great career option and one that will be helpful in the future during business school. However, there are many jobs out there that are also great opportunities. I think you need to pursue the career path that appeals to you right now, whether that is accounting or something else. What will be important in the future for your applications is that you have progressed in your career and gained some quality experience. If you are in a job that you love, then you will probably excel and gain those experiences.

Good luck,
Lisa
