700 GMAT, Do I need to retake the exam???

I took my first GMAT and received a score as shown below.

Quant 49 - 88 precentile
Verbal 37 - 81 percentile
Total - 700 - 90 percentile.

(I'm not sure how receiving 88 and 81 in Quant and Verbal respectively, put me in 90th percentile for overall score.)

I'm mostly worried about the difference of 12 points between Quant and Verbal scores. I am thinking of retaking the GMAT since I'm aiming for top schools... (HBS, Standford, Booth, etc). Am I getting too obessed with the GMAT score:?:

my GPA isn't so great - 3.0 with engineering degree.

A score of 700 is pretty solid and I would not recommend retaking the test unless you think you can add another 30 points or so. Also, remember that your GPA and GMAT scores are not the only factors considered by adcom. Your LORs, work experiences, essays, etc. also play a significant role in the strength of your application.
