Issue type questions: Is being neutral okay?

Hello,

I downloaded the AWA sample essays from the beatthegmat wiki and was going through the Issue type essays... noticed that lot of essays do not take any one particular side for issue- they instead take a neutral approach.

Just wanted to confirm- is it only how convincing we are that counts or should we most definitely take a stand for/against the issue?

In my opinion, being persuasive is not really that important--it's more important that your essay is well written and well organized. If you can write well, but your argument sucks I think that you can still land a fine score.

My advice is to focus mostly on the quality of your writing.
