Between C and D, C is not clear as new machine does what?

A, B has wrong meaning in saying competition costs more when non underline portion says it costs less

E wrong comparison to maintain comp. prod costs vs. for the new mills machine

I think there should be a "does" at the end....in B...in case answer is "B"...else there seems to be problem in all of the others too.

The question is a exact replica of question#156 of OG-10. In that there is a do at the end....

IMO all the other options have errors...exactly similar to what OG used to kick out the other options....Please tell if I am missing somethig here.

Covering the floors with tiles costs twice as much as covering them with linoleum (Manhattan Gmat Sc)
the two sides are parallel and when u compare this sentence with original one
does refers to maintaining and not costs in the original one .. this is the approach i followed and got C as ans
but i guess its OA is D

I also find this thing to be pretty confusing.

Can someone please tell why the following sentence is correct:

He is more talented than his brother

There is no "is" at the last....isn't it the case of incomplete comparison without "is" at the end.

But for the OG example as I posted above...we need to have "do" at the last to complete the comparison?

yeah for the OG one we need to have do ..that is fine ..about ur previous post He is more talented than his brother do is not needed because there is no verb between more ........than whereas the other two sentences have two verbs maintaining and covering between more .....than .. thats how i look at it .
