this is question 70, OG 11

Displays of the aurora borealis, or "northen lights" can heat the atmosphere over the Arctic enough //to affect the trajectories of ballistic missiles, induce// electric current that can cause blackouts in some areas and corrosion in nouth-south pipelines

a,

b, that the trajectories of ballistic missiles are affected, induce

c, that it affects the trajectories of ballistic missiles, induces

d, that the trajectories of ballistic missiles are affected and induces

e,to affect the trajectories of ballistic missiles and induce

OG said that " the conjuction and is necessary to show that two effects are equal and separate. when saparateed only by comma, the second effect (induces) appears to be part of the first one, which is not true"

that mean we have "do1, do2" patern. I do not understand thid pattern . pls explain and compare with pattern " do1, doing2" and "do1 and do2" which we already know.

I think we should preperly understand questions from OG because they are in OG. do not study from other sourse

Sentence Skeleton should be -

Displays of X can heat the atmosphere enough to affect Y and induce Z

Similar to

Displays of X can heat the atmosphere enough to do Y and do Z

a

b that the trajectories of ballistic missiles are affected, induce
"affected" and "induce" do not match.

c that it affects the trajectories of ballistic missiles, induces
This suggests the sentence is having a third affect as well...
for ex - it affects, induces and ...

d that the trajectories of ballistic missiles are affected and induces
"affected" and "induces" do not match.

e to affect the trajectories of ballistic missiles and induce
Best choice
