confusion

by geet » Thu Jun 25, 2009 11:25 pm
Only seven people this century have been killed by the great white shark, the man-eater of the movies—less than those killed by bee stings.

1. movies—less than those
2. movies—fewer than have been
3. movies, which is less than those
4. movies, a number lower than the people
5. movies, fewer than the ones

i have confusion between B and E..plz explain it

IMO B is better then E because of "one one rules"....

As per Kaplan...

one cannot refer back to anything except previous one....

Moreover in "E"....fewer then....acts as modifier....modifying movies....which is incorrect...

By using "-"...B adds just more information to the sentence.....

I too have a confusion between B and E but i'll go with E

B -
fewer than have been killed by bee stings.....seems awkward.

E doesn't look the best option but seems best out of the lot for me.

what's OA?

Although "B" looks to be the best amongst the lot....but can someone please tell don't we need "those" in B in order to complete the comparison ?

Why can't the answer be D?
Have you wondered how you could have found such a treasure? -T

Why can't the answer be D?
Because it is comparing numbers with people
