Please evaluate my profile......

by bharabs » Thu Jun 18, 2009 4:01 pm
I am an Indian Citizen working for a reputed Indian software services company as a software engineer.
Please find a brief note on my profile below

Exp: 3+
International exp: 1+
GPA: Not sure how this is calculated (scored 70.2% in undergraduate)
GMAT: 650 (Math : 48 84%, Verbal : 31 58%, AWA : 5)
Weak on Extra curricular.

Want to do full time MBA at one of the below listed b-schools:

IMD switzerland
LBS London
Oxford UK
IE Business School
Queens University
INSEAD

Would like to know my chances of getting into one of these school?
Please suggest if you know any other good b-schools that suit my profile.

Basically the idea is to be employed in Europe and interested in Finance.
Also another important point is that I want to honestly portray myself as I am and let the b-schools which think can make me efficient business leader pick me.

Dear bharabs,

To be honest, you have a similar profile to a large percentage of the global MBA applicant pool. However, your GMAT is on the low side compared to the other software engineers from India. You might want to take the GMAT again to try and raise your score at least 40 points. Since admissions decisions are based on more than the numbers, your essays, recommendations, and interviews are critical to the ultimate decision. These components give you another chance to shine and make your case for a seat in the class. Be sure to convey your successful leadership and teamwork experiences in your essays as well as a solid rationale for getting your MBA in relation to your past experiences and future career goals.

Good luck,
Lisa

Hi Lisa,

Thanks a lot for your comments...!!!
Appreciate your thoughts.

Do you suggest any other b-schools that I must try with this profile?
Because I dont see a possibility in improving my profile other than the experience, keeping in mind the kind of person I am... :-)

Thanks,
Bharath
