370 - got beat up by GMAT

by ST » Mon Jun 01, 2009 12:23 pm
I guess I am sad today. After all work I did behind GMAT. I am just not able to increase my score. I just don't understand what to do.

I have done MGMAT, Powerscore, OG10 and 11 and almost everything but it seems like I am never going to get my dream score. I am just so disappointed at myself today.

My verbal is 16 and Quantitative is 26 which has placed me at 370. :(

I guess I have to triple study time or effort. I will book the test again in August.

How did you study the material you mentioned? Did you go through it slowly to ensure you understood what you were studying? Did you take any practice test prior to the actual GMAT? It seems like you really need to get back to the basics before you study with actual problems from the OG.

Yes, I went throught it slowly and throughly. I guess today was not my day.

I will start again. I will not give up until I beat the GMAT. I guess I have to come up with a strategy to study. My weakness is verbal so I guess I will focus more on that.

Thanks

Hey don't beat yourself up...failure makes you a stronger individual.

Did you have issues with time?
Did you look over your mistakes and see if you were having trouble with certain concepts?

If you dont get an answer right...and you figure out how to do that particular problem...you should be able to replicate the same system of thinking in a similar type of problem...then only you would be thorough in the concept.

I hear tutors really help for a test like the GMAT...you may want to consider something like that.

Good Luck for August! :)

Don’t take another test until you know what you did wrong on the first 10-15 questions.

I can relate with you because I've used the same materials to study. Although I haven't taken the real GMAT yet... my score was not up to par on my first GMATPrep. I'll tell you what I've been telling myself, "Don't give up and keep pushing harder and good things will happen."

I admire your determination and many can learn from your perserverance. :D
