800score.com Opinions Please

by actionbasti » Sat Jul 14, 2007 3:56 pm
Hi,

I have used the tests on 800score.com and find the math portion extremely difficult to master. Does anyone have similar experiences with this test ? Is it a good representation of the real GMAT?

I feel rather discouraged, cause I have studied for several month now, and I can solve math problems from my books pretty well (GMAT Review, Princeton Review). But when i try the 800score test, I get a bad score and I don't see any improvement.

Thanks,

Seb

Do a forum search...this has been discussed several times.

I did a search already and again but I can still not find a good comparison of 800score.com and the actual GMAT. Also I just wonder how people feel in general about those practice tests compared to others.

Please, all comments are greatly appreciated.

Thanks :D

PS: There are some older posts of 800score.com, however, I am looking to find opinions on the recent material offered on that webpage. That is also people who took the practice test recently (this year) and how it compares to this year's actual GMAT.

From what I have seen in this in other forums, 800score.com is not recommended.

Thanks for your comments! I really appreciate it.

Up until yesterday I had only taken 800score.com Prep tests and I just could not get a good Quant result. I always scored around 36 points (530 total) and even used the pause button a lot. After studying for months I just could not improve my quant score very much.

Then, I finally registered for the GMAT this weekend and downloaded the 2 official Tests. I scored 44 on my Quant section and overall 640. I am really glad and feel so relieved.

Screw the 800score tests! Out of my experience, the tests teach you some really tough math problems that take you much longer to figure out. You start freaking out cause the time is running out. It makes you question whether the real test will be just as tough! But I guess the positive side is that you get really surprised when you see your score increase as much as mine did when taking the official GMAT prep test.

I do not recommend 800score tests to prepare for the GMAT. Waste of morale.
