can someone help me out on this..

x<y<z are odd integers,are they consecutive odd integers?
1)z-x=4
2)y is the avg of x and z

answer is a,why is it not d?

Its not D because:

x, y, z can be 1, 3, 5 or 3, 7, 11 for y = (x+z)/2
First case they are consecutive odd integers while in the second case they are not.
