(D) to assure closing the doors properly

"Recommended .... to assure that" seems to be the correct usage.


E brings out the original intended meaning of the sentence much better than [spoiler] D
[/spoiler]

D sounds a little awkward (recommended to assure closing) than E since its missing "that"

i think [spoiler]E [/spoiler]is following the rule [[color=red]of placing the modifier properly nearer to noun closely[/color] ] correctly
which [spoiler]D[/spoiler] is violating[/spoiler]

"D - incorrect - offers the necessary infinitive, but the gerund phrase closing ... imprecisely refers to the act of closing the doors rather than to the condition of the closed doors."

I am also confused in the above explanation...can someone please explain it in more detail....
