Hi, first off thanks for all the great pieces of advice on MBA admissions
on this forum.

I'm planning to apply for '08 MBA and the following are my credentials.
Please evaluate my chances for an MBA in the following schools --

- Stanford
- Wharton
- Chicago GSB
- MIT Sloan
- Columbia

Main reasons for pursuing MBA - Biz background will help me transition
from current "implementation" focussed work to a broader "what does
the market need" type work and will pave the way for an entrepreneurial
career.

Credentials:

- Bachelors in Engineering from a top 10 school in India.
9.0 GPA (scale 1-10)

Graduated with honors (only given to 2-3 per year)

company wide sales conventions, resolved multiple customer

with many customer trials.

10 people. Products well received by customers and currently generate
more than $50 million in sales per year

currently employed by employees across different business units
and different geographies. Multiple recognitions.

founded by father 3 years ago

a non-profit org event for 2 years

- Very interested in long term investing. Took classes on investment
fundamentals at a community college. Trade stocks regularly.

- Interested in photography. I go on photography expeditions
twice a year.

- Like to travel - visited Brazil, Chile, Singapore in the recent past.
Lived in Bahrain (middle-east) during the first Gulf war. Life
has been demanding and requires adaptation every 4 years.

- Have run 2 half marathons and over 50 10k events in the last 3 years

- 'B' level badminton player

Hi jayhawk2001,

Your challenge is to show your unique qualities and set yourself apart. Your raw credentials look promising, so it comes down to how you present yourself in the application.

Think about your long term goals and what the journey has been from your past to where you are now - what choices have you made? What do those choices say about you and your personal qualities? How will an MBA help you towards your goals?

Good luck!
