What should be a good balance of topics to keep them fresh?

In my previous attempt I did really bad on the GMAT, so I am trying to figure out a good strategy of study, the problem that I find is that if I go a week without reading verbal stuff or doing a DS problem I tend to forget about a few steps or formulas.

Should I take maybe 2 hours verbal and 1 hour math a day for example, or do math one week, verbal another week... etc.?
Any advice?

There are 5sections--PS/DS/SC/CR/RC Depending on your study plan do a set of 2/3 everyday .this also depends on your weak section.

You could do PS/SC/RC or DS/CR/RC or ...

1. How many combinations total can you create?

If you study 3topics a day
1.If you study atleast 1QA topic a day, how many combinations?
2. If you study atleast 2topics from VA, how many combinations?

I have about 2 1/2 months to go, also, what is the amount of daily hours optimum to study, before I studied for 2 to 3 hours for about 3 months, but I did get burned up, and to get back to the routine took me about two weeks, I don't want to over do it, I just want to do it right...

Depends on your study schedule and the rest of your life. If you are working and studying 2-3hrs a day, you might want to consider giving yourself a break on weekends. Most people also spend weekends doing tests which is a 4hour commitment and can be quite draining considering you also have to review the test and that should ideally take a while.

5 topics 3 a day = 15

5 topics 3 a day is 5C3 which is the same as 5C2 = 10

1/3 Q = 5
2/3 V = 10

My Q says
atleast 1QA topic a day which means you should calculate for 1QA topic a day AND 2QA topics a day

You didn't mention if or when you're signed up to take the GMAT. Do you have much time remaining to study?
