what is x?

x and y are integers, x=?
1) 5(x+1)=5x+y
2) (x+5)*(y-5)=0

IMO : E please elaborate ur answers.....coz i think x can be anything when y = 5. x can be -5 or say 19! or any integer.
try to put y = 5 and any value of x in both 1 and 2, it will satisfy them both.

I think its E too. Same reasoning as yours:

statement 1:

this yields y = 5. no info on x. insufficient.

statement 2:

either x= -5 OR y = 5 OR (x=-5 and y =5). If y = 5, x can take any value. insufficient.

both statements together: with y=5, x can have any value. insufficient.
