IMO A.

"Portent of" is the correct use. Also the answer is concisel.

I guess (B) is answer which is pointing to "Destroyed. Please correct me if aim wrong

A sounds good.

seems to me that "of" would be the correct usage instead of "for" when used with "portent".

can't pinpoint exactly why, but the present continuous in B sounds awkward.
