Total of 13 people

Possibilities when one person is removed:

If it is a woman:

Total People remaining = 12
Men remaining = 5
Women remaining = 7

If it is a man:
Total People remaining = 12
Men remaining = 4
Women remaining = 8

A.) Tell you that 7/12 of remaining people are women; Hence woman is removed. Suff.

B.) Tells you that women is removed. Hence 5/12 men remaining. Suff.

S1 : 7/12 of remaining = 7/12 * 12 = 7. So, for sure we know a woman has left the committee. 5/12 is the required fraction.

S2 : Same as above. 5/12
