I almost disqualified myself!!!

But it was no big deal - I wrote my scores on my wrist because I didn't know we got a printout at the end - I showed the lady and she was like normally we would write an incident report, but you showed us that you wrote it, so no problem. I was like PHEW!!

Anyways, I got a 690 (88%)!!! 47Q (79%) and 38V (83%)

I'm so happy with my score!! My goal was 690, and I would have been satisfied with a 650. I only studied for about 10 hours, so I'm not killing myself over not getting a 700. I feel like it would have taken me another 50 or 60 hours of prep to reach the 700-720 level.

The test was SOOOOOOO difficult! During the quant, I guessed on approximately...90% of the questions. It was RIDICULOUSLY difficult. The verbal was very unclear as well - answers didn't EVER jump out as correct, and very rarely did answers pop out as obviously wrong. Throughout the entire test, I hadn't the foggiest idea about how I had performed.

And then at the end...I was happy!

One funny thing I noticed - my GMAT score was exactly equal to my SAT scores 4 years ago!!! 690/800 = 1380/1600. Isn't that ridiculous?

Oh god, I'm so relieved I did well!!! Fortunately I won't need to take the test a 2nd time!

BTW will my AWA score affect my overall score at all? If it does, then maybe I did get a 700 afterall!

congratulations!!!

Your AWA score will not affect the 690...you will get to know the AWA once you receive the score report from GMAC.

Congratulations on your score! And to answer your question, no, the AWA score will not affect your overall score, even though schools may look at it.

Also, for future reference (to anyone who might read this later), I have noticed a strong correlation between SAT scores and GMAT scores. So, if you're just starting out in your studies, you might be able to use that as a baseline. I also scored the same percentile on the SAT as I did on the GMAT.
