Although I had been studying much longer, I actually got down and put in 3 months of solid studying of the OG11 and OG12. I took the exam and was expecting to score in the mid 600's. Unfortunately, I ended up with a mere 500. Surprisingly, doing better in quant then in verbal.

I knew I was in trouble during the exam when I noticed:

• Quant appeared to be too easy
  SC appeared to be too easy
  
  Here are my exam scores to date:
  02/15/09 Kaplan Diagnostic Quant + Verbal 33 36 570
  03/01/09 Powerprep Quant + Verbal 37 40 640
  04/27/09 GMATPrep Quant + Verbal 31 29 510
  05/09/09 Actual Exam 31 27 500
  
  I def want to get back target 700+ but I'm not sure how to get there from here. Any ideas and suggestions?

Well one mistake you need to rectify is the number of practice CATs that you did. Over 3 months of studying you only took 3 practice tests. This is simply not enough practice.

You should get access to the MHAT CATs so you have another 6 practice exams to work through before your next attempt.

If you're trying to target 700+ (200 pt) increase then I think you need to throw your current playbook out the window and do something radical. You might want to consider taking a prep class from Veritas or Manhattan.

I would recommend Manhattan too.

I recently sat for the GMAT and scored a 690 - I wanted a 700 plus score.

I have now taken up Manhattan - their material is excellent. With them, you get to target the fundamentals and then work your way up.

I have just begun with the first book...but I can already appreciate the value add.
