u and v are positive real numbers, is u > v?

1. u^3/v <1

2.(u^1/3)/v < 1

tested numbers and got very messy.

u^3<v - depends if u and v are greater than 1 or between 0 and 1 - INSUFF

II

u < v^3 - numerous possibilities, u=2 and v=3 or u=3 and v=2 and so on, INSUFF


I and II

well, if both are greater than 1 then we know that u has to be less than v in order to satisfy condition I. If both are bet. 0 and 1 then u < v to satisfy condition II. Either way, u<v , answer C.

the constraints are that postive real numbers. so what now?
