Question stem can be reduced to x>3/4y ==> x> 0.75y

Statement 1: x>y-x ==> 2x > y ==> x > y/2 ==> x>0.5y
So, we cannot determine if x> 0.75

Statement 2: x/y<1 ==> x<y
This statement alone is not sufficient.

Combining both the statements, x>0.5y & x<y ==> x = 0.6y, 0.7y, 0.75y, 0.8y, 0.9y
