If p < q and p < r, is pqr < p?

(1) pq < 0

(2) pr < 0

Given : p < q and p< r

To find: Is pqr < p

Stmt I

pq<0

Since p<q p is negative and q is positive

Since we dont know anything about sign of r we cant say if pqr < p

If r is negative then NO
If r is positive the YES

INSUFF

Stmt II

same explanation as abobe but in this case we dont know sign of q


INSUFF

Together:

p<q and p<r

p is neagtive q and r are both positive

So is pqr < p

(negative)(positive)(positive) < neagtive YES if p, q and r are integer

Let say p = -2 q=1/2 r=1/2 then NO

pqr > p

INSUFF

Good one...(key: we dont know if p.q.r are integers or fractions)

cramya, ya its a good one. A good practice for beginners or intermediate test takers but experts like you, i'm sure, must find it a piece of cake. !!! :D
