Hello Stacy,
My profile:
Mexican/American - parents are from Mexico but I was born here. I worked in tomato fields in my teens. I'm one of two out of five siblings that finished high school and I'm the only in the family to go to college.
Education:
Cumulative Undergraduate GPA: 2.92
UC Santa Barbara GPA: 2.45 (Biology Major) - I had a hard time adjusting
Community college GPA: 3.38 (Biology Major)
GMAT: 700
Work Experience:
5 Years work experience at a large biotech firm. Lots of leadership experience. Lots of awards at work relating to leadership as well as teamwork.
Lots of volunteer work, eg. Habitat for Humanity, Boys and Girls Club
Numerous MVP awards in baseball from my youth.
Reasons for MBA:
In the leadership experiences I've had at work I've found that I'm passionate about helping others succeed. Additionally, I would like to one day be an executive at a biotech firm - I've been told by my managers that I have a lot of potential to do so - and an MBA would allow me the insight to be more effective at a high level, so that I can contribute to the success of the company. My current employer will pay for whatever program I get into, that is unless I leave to do a full-time program (I work in the bay area - San Francisco).
I am also very interested in investments. I'm an active stock trader and I'm always interested in knowing what's going on in the market.
What chances would I have at:
-Harvard
-MIT
-Yale
-Berkeley (local so I would continue to work)
-UC Davis
-Arizona
Also, if I do go with a program that would require me to leave work, what are my scholarship prospects?
-Thanks
