Profile Evaluation: Part Time MBA Program (Fall 2009)

Can you please let me know if i should retake my gmat before the application deadline for top tier part time mba programs in nyc (fall 2009) or focus on my application?

UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE
school: top tier liberals arts school
degree: bsba
major/minor/concentration: business management/economics/finance
GPA: 3.5
scholarship/honors: yes

GMAT
score: 620
q:46
v:29

CAREER (INVESTMENT BANKING)
trading desk: analyst (3 years)
risk management: associate (2 years)

BACKGROUND
born and raised abroad (european and asian parents)
attended an international school until high school

Dear ML,

Based on your post, I think you might want to retake your GMAT again. You will be competing for seats against many other bankers who will have similar work experience and GPAs, but much higher GMAT scores. While you might have great essays, recommendations, and interviews, you are probably at a bit of risk if you apply at a 620. It is possible you could gain admission, but a GMAT score above a 650 would put you in a better position.
