Hello everyone

i am in my first month of studying now- and i'm currently studying only math.
during the 2nd month ill study the verbal part, and inthe 3rd month ill review as many tests as i can.

each weekend i do a sample Gmat test- but currently i only do the math part. i plan to do the verbal part of the tests during the 2nd month, when ill be studying only verbal.
i dont think it would be efficient for me to do that verbal part of the test now.

do you guys think thats good practice- to only do the math part of the tests for now? how do u guys do it?

many ways of doing this.

Most everyone would do 1 or 2 COMPLETE GMAT cat just to have a baseline and see any improvements.

After than is where people have different strategies some like you might focus on first verbal or quantitive and then swap and then review it all. Some like me might prefer a bit of both hand in hand so to speak continuous even improvement and with gmat tests weakly or fortnightly to see any changes or improvements so for me and others with similar plans verbal or quant only results is not particurily useful but if ur confident and happy about ur way then i guess its sensible.


However I would recommend you do a full gmat or 2 to get a baseline.

Baseline diagnostic, yes. very advisable. Do it, Immediately. Do Not Pass Go; Do Not Collect $200 Dollars.

As far as your 'plan,' it is one I'd recommend reconsidering. The math, for most people, takes less time to master than the verbal.

If you're going to focus on one, I'd make sure you're still working a little with the other section, not ignore it completely. I have found that when students only focus on one section, that section will improve, while the other one suffers. I'd recommend instead, that you focus on each section in a 40-60 ratio or 30-70 ratio, then switch it the next month. Spend the last month fine tuning and test-taking. You also might find 2 - 2.5 months is sufficient for study.
