when 2/3 garments in a shipment were inspected, 18 of the garments passed inspection and the remaining 2 garments failed. How many of the uninspected garments must pass inspection in order that 90% of the garment in the shipment pass?

a. 10
b. 9
c. 8
d. 7
e. 5

Total number of garments : x
Inspected : 2/3x
Passed inspection: 18 of the 2/3x
Did not pass inspection: 2/3x-18=2 (2 remained)
2/3x=20
x=30 - total number of garments

Then, we find 90% of the total number
90% of 30 is 27

We know that 18 passed already, so in order to get 27 we need
27-18=9 more garments to pass the inspection.
