Visiting the school twice

by Thonk02 » Sat Mar 28, 2009 6:17 am
I plan on applying to UT next year and want to visit campus before I submit my application for the obvious reasons. The question is, if they ask me for an interview, is it very important to go out there again for a face to face rather than a phone interview lets say? I would undoubtedly go out there for a second time if need be but if it wouldnt be necessary I'd rather save on money and time if I could.

Thoughts?

Dear Thonk02,

Returning to campus to interview would be ideal, but not a necessity since you have visited campus already. Personally, I think face-to-face interviews are better for the applicant. Of course, many people do phone interviews and receive offers of admission, so it is not necessarily an advantage. I just think interviewing in person allows you to make a stronger connection with the interviewer.

Good luck,
Lisa
