I took the GMAT today and received a 42Q and 38V to get a total score of 650. I was really shooting and hoping for a 700 total score. My quant score was in line with what I'd been scoring but my verbal was not. In fact I thought I did really well on verbal but obviously I was wrong. Can someone give me some input on my situation?
Am a Korean-American 26 year old male from New Jersey. (US Citizen)
Graduated Rutgers U. with a B.A. in Economics and GPA of 2.2 (obviously piss poor and hoped to offset it with a 700+ GMAT score. =(
Worked independently within an unknown trading firm as a relatively successful daytrader for 3 1/2 years after graduation.
Have held leadership positions (Pres. and VP.) in fraternity chapter.
Currently taking classes to show at Seton Hall business school as a Non-matric student.
After considering my situation, I've decided to put my efforts into putting together the best application I can and apply to schools that have the highest probability of accepting me.
Assuming I keep my score of 650, get A's in my non-matric courses, write very good essays, and have good recommendations while considering my poor GPA and I don't even know where my Job experience falls what are my chances of getting into schools like, Texas (McCombs), Georgetown, USC, and Fordham? Any suggestions? Any other schools that I should consider? Is my region of residence taken into consideration in my application? if so, How?
Any comments or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.
