The establishment of land trusts in New England has been praised not because of it restricting overdevelopment but because it allows the inheritance by future generations of the property.

A. --Same as above--
B. because it not only is restricting overdevelopment and also allows the inheritance by future generations of
C. because it does not only restrict overdevelopment, it also allows future generations for inheriting
D. because of not only the restrictions on overdevelopment but also because future generations can inherit
E. not only because it restricts overdevelopment but also because it allows future generations to inherit

Please provide reasoning for your answer as well as why other options are wrong.

B. because it not only is restricting overdevelopment and also allows the inheritance by future generations of ( idiom use in not correct)
C. because it does not only restrict overdevelopment, it also allows future generations for inheriting ( same as B)
D. because of not only the restrictions on overdevelopment but also because future generations can inherit ( should be but also noun)
E. not only because it restricts overdevelopment but also because it allows future generations to inherit ( Correct)

1. Correct use of idiom: not only X, but also Y
2. Parallel structure.
