How do I move from 48/49 to 51 in Quant ??

by moadhia » Thu Mar 12, 2009 8:38 pm
As the title suggests, I have been stuck on 48/49 in the Quant section. I want to jump to 50+. I have completed both the green QR book and OG math questions and reviewed all my mistakes. But I still keeping getting some of those questions wrong.

What should I do? I am a bit frustrated here, because I was able to score a perfect 800 on my GRE quant. Any additional questions I should be looking at ?? how is GMATFocus? Would it help ?

Moadhia, that's a tough one. I think your problem might be that although the Official Guides have lots of practice, they don't have that much practice for the hardest questions. Are the 48/49 quant scores you quoted from GMATPrep tests?

Have you looked at The Official Guide Companion book from GMATFix? That's what I used. the book has 10 advanced quant drills that look and feel very similar to the GMATPrep questions.

I'm pretty sure that Manhattan GMAT has a set of "challenge questions" that also tries to serve people with your specific ability level

Kaplan also has a book for people of high quant ability, but I've heard that its questions don't feel like genuine GMAT questions.
