Is x-y > x+y
i.e. is -y > y.

To prove the above, we need to know if y is negative.

1 - sufficient. x=8 and x-y > 10. So, y is negative

2 - sufficient. y is negative

Is it D ?

Reworking the question in a similar fashion to Jay I get, is 2Y<0 or is Y neg?

1) Sufficient if x=8 than Y has to be neg for 8-y>10
2) Sufficient y=-20 it is indeed neg and we can say that it works

So D
