Can someone explain if my approach is wrong?

X= Feb Bill

Y= Jan Bill


X/Y=3/2

(X+40)=5/3

Combine both statement, i got x=90 and y=60, but there is no answer.

You correctly wrote the following equations:
x/y = 3/2
(x + 40)/y = 5/3
Use the second stmt, which is equivalent to:
x/y + 40/y = 5/3. Since x/y = 3/2, substitute that and you get that
40/y = 5/3 - 3/2 = 1/6. This means that 40/y = 1/6 or that y = 40 * 6 = 240. Then you should use x/y = 3/2 to find x.
x will ultimately be 3/2*240 = 360.

C unless I've made some calculation errors (which I've been doing a lot lately, unfortunately). What is the OA?

Sorry, i don't have the OA, I panic and quit the test.

But thanks a lot for helping me solving the problem, it make more sense.

The question asking for jan bill, so it should be y which is 240( i guess), it didn't ask for feb bill.
