Manhattan Recordings

If anyone has used Manhattan Gmat's complete set of class recordings how helpful are they? Should I buy or simply stick with their books?

Hi PinkBox,

I'm currently taking the MGMAT Self-Study Plus course (packaged with the class recordings - 1/3 complete so far). I feel having access to the previous class recordings is valuable - it's very easy to understand the instructors and build up more on the material provided in the strategy guides (they are excited to teach it, too).

That said, each class session is about 3 hours long so it takes a pretty large chunk of your study time (9 sessions total). If you are looking into taking the GMAT pretty soon, it may be more time efficient to just stick with the books. Anyways, good luck and hope this helps!

i think your question would be more of $ vs value. as for me i've been using the recordings and it has boosted my comprehension of the books (vs using the books alone)

if you buy the recordings, doesn't MGMAT give you the books for free?

thanks for ur input. yes, you do get the books in the package but i thought if the recordings are simply a reiteration of the books i would just purchase the books and not pay the price of the full package

to be honest, the recordings is probably almost identical to the books, if you are more of a visual person (like myself) then the recordings may help you in retaining the info from the books better.

i actually bought the entire set of books used and as i started reading some of the material not everything made complete sense to me. After i purchased the recordings I followed the format and schedule of the classes and I am completely satisfied with the outcome of the recordings.
