Just gave my gmat today but as I had expected marks are very bad I scored 300 ,Q-18 AND V -13 well should I still send my scores as I hav 4 yrs experience in sales,customerservice .and have good gpa , good references as the school where I want to appy requires min 550 gmat , I dont want to give gmat again as scores not gonna improve much as studied algebra and geometry like 10 yrs back.plz guide me

Are you in a hurry to get into this program? Why not take some time to master the basics and get your score up? You only get ONE shot to get an MBA. Why not do the best that you can to get into the best program that you can? I know that you could definitely get your score up to 550 if you gave a few solid months of studying. It's rare for people to get good GMAT scores without studying their asses off. There have been people here who have received low GMAT scores, but have come back to score 700+. Don't give up so easily. It sounds like you are looking good everywhere else. Complete the package so you can be a competitive candidate!

I'm in a hurry as I 'm already 28 now and already have 2 gradute degree so dont want to waste more time .I find algebra and geometry too tough also work 12 hrs a day dont get much time to study too apart from that dont know of any teachers who provide tutions for gmat .thanks for your reply though...

28 is not too old by any means. There are people here that are 10 years older than you. I'm not sure if you have much choice though. If they have a minimum of 550, do you think they'd be willing to accept someone with a score of 300? Did you talk to an adviser at that school? If you can get two graduate degrees, that you can definitely get a higher GMAT score. Which school are you trying to attend?

I am a 29 years old male with work days similar as yours. I have a 17 months old son and a 2 weeks old baby at home. I come back home each days, I eat, play with my son, give him a bath, put him to sleep, workout and then study for an hour or two. I have been doing this for more than 3 months now and I really think the time spent on studying for the GMAT is time well spent.

I really think you should compromise on some other activities and concentrate on the GMAT for 1-2 months. After all, 2 months is not that much!

Tap, I think in your case it may be difficult to go from a 300 to say a 700 since you are tied up at work and pressed for time. There are other backdoors into MBA programs that do not require GMAT scores. An online program such as the MBA program through the University of Phoenix may be ideal for you, allowing you to continue to work while achieving your goal. I'm not convinced the GMAT is for everyone, but I am convinced there is a solution to every problem!
