2010 applications and early decision?

by arc145 » Tue Feb 17, 2009 8:46 pm
Hi,

I was wondering when schools typically release applications for R1 for Fall 2010?

Also, is Columbia's Early Decision application released earlier than most, or is the due date just sooner? Also, for early decision rounds, are the GMAT and GPA ranges typically lower than for those who apply regular decision?

Thanks.

Dear arc145,

Most schools release the application for the next entry point (i.e., fall 2010) about a year in advance. You will see most schools release the application for fall 2010 in August or September of 2009. Early decision simply means the first application deadline date with the understanding that if admitted, you will attend. There is no difference in the actual application. Likewise, there are not changes in the GMAT/GPA requirements nor any trend in those numbers being necessarily higher or lower than the admitted applicants from subsequent rounds.

Good luck,
Lisa
