(1) x*y not equal to x means x is not = 0 OR y is not = 1; if x=0 then the cond would have been suff ! ...... insuff!mlaboda wrote:Plz provide an explanation. Tks!
Is (9^x)^3-2x = 1?
1. The product of x and positive integer y is not x.
2. x is an integer.
(2) x is integer..... no help..insuff
I also feel there is something missing in the problem!

for C to be a correct answer as stated by mlaboda...
the question has to be -
Is (9)^(x(3-2x)) = 1?
for this equation to hold true the power should be 0 as 9^0 = 1
so x(3-2x) = 0; and x=0,3/2
1) x is not 0; insuff,as x may be or may not be 3/2.
2) x is an integer;insuff,as x can be 0.
taking both........x <> 0,and x<>3/2....so we can clearly say that the equation in question does not hold true.
