Schools with rolling admission

by Toad » Mon May 28, 2007 2:52 pm
I am planning on applying to a school with rolling admissions. There are no specific cutoffs for round 1 / round 2, but the final deadline would be May 31st. Do schools internally have such cutoff rounds? Would it be bad for me to apply some time in January? I was thinking of applying in January so my employer doesn't stiff me on any holiday bonuses / raises / promotions after they find out I'm planning on leaving.

I am also considering using your Editing Services for my essays. I was wondering how much in-depth you actually go when editing the essays. Do you just make minor grammar / wording changes, or do you actually make major content changes / additions? More information about the steps in the editing process would be great.

Thanks

The key to rolling admissions is to apply as early as possible, because they review and admit as you submit and the longer you wait, the more seats are filled. However, of course you need to balance this against your needs such as the bonus issue. For a May 31 deadline, January sounds just fine; there will be plenty of apps submitted after yours.

One difference between our comprehensive service and our edit service is that with the comprehensive service we gather information from you up front and proactively help you craft your application. While we can comment on content issues in an essay we are editing, we can only work with what is in the essay. So - yes - we can address content issues, particularly if you have specific questions, but there is a limit to what we can do.
