Preparing for the GMAT

by albertso » Tue Jan 20, 2009 12:20 am
I have just recently decided to take the GMAT in a couple of months. But I don't have the money or time to spend on the prep courses offered by Kaplan or PR or Manhattan, so I have decided to purchase the various study guides available to study on my own.

I will definitely buy the OG 11th edition, but should I also buy the other 2 verbal and math OG's or go for the Kaplan or PR prep guides instead? I don't want to buy too many books because I actually have quite a tight budget on books.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Well that is a tough call, I personally would suggest you to get the OG guides as they are closest to the real thing. But having said that I did find Kaplan useful in my preparation, is there a chance you could borrow Kaplan/PR from one of your friends if so then I would suggest you to do so. If the choice is between the OG guides and Kaplan, then I would choose the OG guides. Hope that helps.

Cheers.
