Hi,

I have gone thru a consultant and have been told that i can only get admit from a US Business school ranked beyond 50th rank.
1.Is it worth it? Would you be placed in a decent job?
2.If yes ......Considering the Economy now, is an MBA in Finance an good option.Pls suggest any other fields.

Dear fightthegmat,

There are so many great MBA programs out there, including those outside the top 50. Ideally, you want to pick one that is known in its region and will best prepare you for your desired post-MBA goals. There are many smaller programs with strong reputations and good placement records in their region. With regards to finance, there are so many jobs that fall under the finance umbrella that there will always be opportunities. Additionally, the markets and the economy will look differently in spring 2011 when folks entering this fall graduate.

Good luck,
Lisa

The most comprehensive site of accredited MBA programs is mba.com. It is also where you sign up for the GMAT. You can search for programs on a variety of criteria to generate of list of schools to research further.
