Hi

I submitted my application for chicago gsb and wharton 3 days back.
After rechecking my application online, I feel that I should have written optional essay explaining academic performance in 2 undergraduate semester and I feel that I could have definitely explained it.

Is it a good idea to send optional essay now after submitting the application. I am in dilemma as I want to explain and don't leave them guessing without drawing too much attention by late submission of optional essay.

Please advise soon.

Thanks
Alka

Dear Alka,

I'm not sure you can submit the additional essay to either of these programs after submitting your application. Many schools will not allow you to update your file once you submit, so it is possible you can't. Nevertheless, trying to submit the additional essay now will bring attention to it. I would suggest contacting the admissions office and/or checking the schools' websites to clarify if you can even submit the optional at this point. If you can, then you need to determine whether or not the benefit of submitting the optional outweighs the risk of drawing attention to it.

Good luck,
Lisa
