Na not really  I am happy to be in the 90th percentile. I worked a lot for this test ( I am a lazy bugger) and I feel one should know when to stop obsessing over a standardized test

MGMAT 1: 640
2 weeks before the test: GMAT PREP1 = 600 nice wake up heavy study time!
1 week before the test gmat prep2 = 700

GMAT 1 score = 660 ( 45 m 36 verbal)
I ran out of time and had to guess blindly in the last 5 questions in quant. In verbal I finished with 20 mins remaining

I knew I could do bettter and two of the areas I needed to focus on quant timing , studying grammar topics thoroughly and the rereading Critical Reasoning book by MGMAT. I planned to take it asap so scheduled l32 days later :P

GMAT 2 700 ( M 45 and V 40)
Even though I was disappointed with no improvement in my math score, I realized that that was probably my level for now and was more than happy with my verbal improvement.

Here are some things I used which were very helpful

1. Take the CATs and determine which sections ( PS, DS , CR, SC and RC ) you are weak at. Next, instead of obsessively reading success stories everyday head over to the problems section where tons of GPREP questions are posted on this website. I found it more useful to attempt the first 5 pages of SC, PS and DS and comparing my explanations with the users of this awesome site!

2. Beatthhegmat and other blogs ( search sentence correction , GMAT grammar blogs on google, the top ones like the beatthegmat are in the top 5, tells you the most popular and effective ones imho. Read over the strategies and see if you think your personality can adopt them for optimum use. Taking the extra time to find what works for you is better than blindly and failing to use ones which worked for others.

3. During the exam day: It is okay to be nervous. I hid the clock and the question number for the first 15 questions and this immediately relaxed me. Take each question as a seperate entity and try not to think about ur past or worry about ur future score .

MOST IMPORTANT: IF you think your timing is way off and you have wayyy too much time left at a particular point of time compared to your practice tests, that means you are only getting the easy questions and you are not giving each question your best shot ( silly mistakes ftw) . SLOW down and spend your "bonus" time rereading the question and your work and make sure you completed all the steps when finding your answer. It is possible for you to improve your score this way midway of your test!

got a 6 on awa and I din't prepare at all. I am used to writing so making a stupid argument was easy. PM me if you need help critiquing or general tips for this section

materials used OG MGMAT books gprep and of course beattheheckoutofthegmat ( you guys )

most useful: all of them. Manhattan for the content, gprep and OGfor the test like questions and beatthegmat for questions and everything else :)

If you read this semi-coherent post, I don't see a reason why you should not get full points for reading comprehension. I also added numerous sentence errors and logical fallacies to enhance your reading experience.

thanks all and best of luck
