Temperature of a gas

When the temperature of a gas is increased, it is either accompanied by an increase in pressure if the gas is enclosed in a container, or an increase in volume if the gas is able to expand.

Does anyone know how to tackle this one? I will greatly appreciate some pointers as to why the wrong answers are wrong.

idiom ...either x or y has correctly been used in E...where X & Y should be parallel.... by .... by in this case
