I know this is crazy. :lol:

But I have a feeling that we have loads of Process engineers /chemical engineers.

maybe the union of them could discuss some problems or anything :)

yeah many guys from India might not agree with you on this... thanks to booming IT sector in the country.

i do agree with you in general terms. but you just cant ignore the fact that ave. starting sal of a fresh BE CHEM is ~4000 Rs. whereas ave IT guy's earn ~16000 Rs. in the beginning of his career.

Hmmm...I am not sure whether this is accurate..looks a bit skewed to me...

Perhaps a more appropriate way to put the details would be that the salary of a fresh BE/B.Tech Chem STARTS from Rs.4000 (i.e 4k is the lower limit)...

Cant imagine 4k as an average...sounds too low to me :roll:
