How much time is required for School Essays

The recommended time to prepare for GMAT is about 2 months. Is there such recommendation for the School Essays?

I am planning to reschedule my GMAT from 12/29 to 01/14 and want to apply to Haas EW Program (deadline 03/02). I wonder if I will have enough time to work on the essay/application.

How long it takes you to write strong essays will vary based on the individual. It depends on how good a writer you are and how many questions there are. Some folks can write great essays in a couple weeks and others need 3-4 weeks and outside help to revise their thoughts/ideas into the best result. Finally, it will depend on how much time you have between your other commitments including work and GMAT preparation. I would start your essay drafts sooner rather than later and try to work on them as you can while doing GMAT preparation. Your time will go quickly and you might want to aim to submit your application by the end of January instead of at the deadline.

I agree with Lisa, in that it depends on your writing skill. It takes me about a week per application, but I'm a writer. Figure a day or two per essay, if you're a strong writer. If, however, you're not a skillful scribe, it can take an inordinate amount of time.
